This cleanser is formulated at a low pH close to the skin's own, so it cleans without that tight, stripped feeling. It carries tea tree oil and a small amount of betaine salicylate (BHA) — enough to keep pores clear with daily use, not enough to exfoliate aggressively.

The gel is thin and lathers lightly. It is designed for the morning, when skin only needs the night's oil removed, but it works as the second step of an evening double cleanse too.
